City of Lee's Summit Announces New Assistant City Manager

The City of Lee’s Summit is pleased to announce the selection of Donna Lake as assistant city manager. Lake begins her position on Feb. 6 where she will support and direct various aspects of the City’s operations and lead the implementation of a number of strategic plan initiatives for the community.

“We are excited to welcome Donna to the City. Her depth of experience implementing successful programs and initiatives will be a tremendous addition to our team as we look to the future of our City,” said City Manager Mark Dunning. “Donna is a highly regarded organizational leader with a passion for public service. I am confident she will serve the City of Lee’s Summit well as we work to advance our strategic goals."

Rededication & Ribbon Cutting

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation invites you to a rededication and ribbon cutting of Pleasant Lea Park located at 1108 SE Walnut Street. Light refreshments will be provided following the ceremony.

Valentine's Luncheon

Gamber Community Center

Join Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation this Valentine's Day for a catered lunch and dessert. The cost is $10 per person and registration is required. Register at the Gamber Community Center or call 816.969.1580.

Lee’s Summit is Seeking Residents for Two New Commissions

The City of Lee’s Summit is currently seeking residents to serve on two newly created commissions, the Cultural Commission and the Wellness Commission. The City’s commissions are supported by volunteers seeking to be involved in local government and meet on a regular basis.

Terms for commission members are three years in length. The deadline for applications is Feb. 17.

Water Utility Road Closure

A section of NE Scruggs Rd. from NE Todd George Rd. to NE Bristol Dr. is closed for water utility repairs. The closure will be in place for approximately six weeks, weather permitting.

The detour route is NE Todd George Rd., NE Langsford Rd. and NE Blackwell Rd. Access to properties along the route will be maintained at all times.
