Summer in the City

What would you like to do before we trade short sleeves for sweaters and lemonades for pumpkin spice lattes? As we approach the mid-point of summer, we want to remind you that there is still plenty of time to enjoy all that our wonderful city has to offer. Take advantage of the summer weather and explore one of our many parks or nature trails. Pack a picnic and spend the day enjoying the beautiful scenery with family and friends. From the farmers market to live music and movies in the park, there is always something to enjoy in the City of New Berlin!

If you LOVE them, LICENSE them!

It's that time of year when our furry friends try to escape the yard and explore our beautiful City. We have seen a lot of lost dog posts on NBPD's Facebook page. Often times, dogs do not have a collar and are not licensed with the City. We encourage you to make sure your dog is licensed. The tag not only identifies your dog to shelter staff or law enforcement officers, it also is linked to a computer-database. This feature can get lost pets home faster. The tag also serves as proof of rabies vaccination in case of bite incidents.

We've heard it all! Click here to view the top 6 common excuses we hear for not licensing a dog, and why your pet still needs a current license. Click the link under the below picture for licensing info.

New Berlin Senior Taxi -

Dispatcher / Driver Needed!

The New Berlin Senior Taxi is a non-profit organization that provides rides for seniors and disabled adults living in New Berlin. There is currently an opening for a part-time dispatcher/driver. This person will mainly preform dispatcher duties, but must also be willing to assist drivers with rides when needed. If interested, please email Dianne Wickstrom at [email protected] for more information.

Currently, the dispatchers and drivers are mainly retired individuals who work 1 day a week. For dispatchers, the normal work hours are 8:30am -12:30pm, or maybe a little longer if there is a ride or 2 for them to perform in the afternoon. At this time, New Berlin Senior Taxi is looking for a dispatcher who would be willing to work 2 or 3 mornings a week at least through a training period. Because we use an on-line scheduling application, I am finding that new dispatchers, only working 1 day a week, take much longer to get comfortable with the scheduling app. Senior Taxi is a 501(c)3 non-profit so the hourly pay is not as high as other places. Employees all start at $8.50 per hour and earn $9.00 after 90 days. If this is something that you are still interested in learning more about, please email Dianne to schedule a time to meet.
