A Time to Give Thanks

Thanksgiving is a time to join with family and friends and give thanks for the blessings and freedoms that we enjoy every day. All of us at City Hall are thankful that we have active and caring citizens who are involved in our community. I am also thankful for our City employees, who work hard every day to make New Berlin a great place to work, live and play. As you celebrate Thanksgiving, please remember to reach out to those less fortunate. That giving spirit helps make our community a great place to live. On behalf of all of us at City Hall, we wish you and your family good health, peace and joy on this Thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you to all those that attended the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11th at City Hall. We honor all who served.

The City of New Berlin had an 80% voter turnout for the November 8th General Election. This is over 23,300 voters that voted either absentee or at the polls on Election Day. What an incredible turnout - Great job New Berlin!

Congratulations to our November 2022

Farewell Officer Brian Labant

The NBPD said farewell to Officer Brian Labant, who retired from the Police Department after 34 years of service. Brian started his career with the City of New Berlin in 1988 as a police dispatcher and then as a cadet. Brian was sworn in as a police officer in 1993.

During his time with the department, Brian served as a bike officer, an honor guard member, a crisis negotiator, and a fire investigator. Additionally, Brian was a field training officer for 23 years and was instrumental in training many of his co-workers. Brian also served as a volunteer firefighter with the New Berlin Fire Department. Brian’s professional efforts have earned him the Life Saving Award and two Commendation Awards.

Brian prided himself on officer safety and teamwork. His dedication to the department’s mission, vision, and values will be missed by the NBPD, and we wish him the best as he begins his next chapter.
