A September to Remember in New Berlin!

Autumn is right on our doorstep! As we head into the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice, let's soak up the last drops of the summer sun and all the fun that New Berlin has to offer. In this edition of NB Notes we invite you to the library on September 29th to hear 2022 Veteran of the Year and New Berlin resident Ruby Scheuing speak as she is featured in the I AM NOT INVISIBLE campaign. Take a tour of our business of the month Patterson Orchards and join us for Applefest and Beer Garden at the Historical Park. Mark your calendar for the spooktacular events in October. The seasons may be changing, but the fun times continue in the City of New Berlin.

National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. First observed in 2012, it has quickly gained momentum ever since. Nearly 4.7 million voters have registered to vote on the holiday to date. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.

According to U.S. Census data from 2020, as many as 1 in 4 eligible Americans are not registered to vote. National Voter Registration Day wants to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote.

I Am Not Invisible Veteran Speaker Ruby Scheuing at the New Berlin Public Library September 29th @ 1PM

The WMC IANI exhibit features two Vietnam War veterans, including New Berlin resident, Ruby Scheuing, who was an Army nurse at the 71st Evacuation Hospital in Pleiku, Vietnam, 1967-68. Ruby is the 2022 Milwaukee County Veterans Board of Directors Veteran of the Year.

View the exhibit at the Library from 9/26-10/7 and come see New Berlin resident and I.A.N.I. Veteran Speaker, Ruby Scheuing on 9/29 at 1:00pm at the New Berlin Public Library.
