Happy New Year
We hope you had a happy Holiday and are looking forward to a prosperous new year! This week's New Berlin Notes is all about the first ever Winter Fest! We also have some helpful information regarding property taxes and holiday schedules. There is a lot of fun planned at the start of the new year, including a photo contest you don't want to miss. Lets make 2020 New Berlin's best year yet!

First Ever Winter Fest
The first ever New Berlin Winter Fest is just days away! Head out to Malone Park and City Center Plaza on January 12th from Noon-7:00 PM for a day full of winter fun. There will be a snow kickball tournament, a medallion hunt, a candle light hike, a bonfire & so much s'more!
Unlimited Hot Cocoa?
Looking to sip on some sweet stuff during Winter Fest? With the advanced purchase of the Winter Fest mug - you'll save $3 and receive unlimited hot cocoa! Mugs are available to purchase in the Recreation Department ($6) or $9 the day of!
Volunteers Needed
The Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help out with the first ever Winter Fest! It's a one day obligation from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on the day of the event. It's a great opportunity for students looking to log some volunteer hours, and it's a ton of fun!
Holiday Closing
City Hall will close at Noon on December 31st for New Year's Eve. It will be closed all day on January 1st, 2020. Happy New Year!
Drive Sober Campaign
The New Berlin Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin during the "Drive Sober or get Pulled Over" holiday campaign from Friday, December 13th through New Year's Day.
New Year's Day Trash Schedule
Trash and recycling will not be picked up on Wednesday, January 1st due to the holiday. All pick ups for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day.

Photo Contest
Calling all photographers! You're invited to participate in our 2020 photo contest. This year's theme, City Living with a Touch of Flurries ! We're looking for your best winter picture taken within the City of New Berlin. Entry is free and by email. Click the button below for more information.
Food Donations Welcome
The City of New Berlin is now accepting non-perishable food items or toiletries to be donated and distributed thru the New Berlin Food Pantry. You can leave donations under the giving tree at City Hall thru January 6th.
Christmas Tree
Pick Up
The Streets Department will start picking up Christmas trees the first week of January depending on the weather, snow depth, and plowing schedules and will continue throughout the month.
 
Please place your Christmas tree near the end of the driveway where it is visible for drivers, but not an obstruction in the roadway for traffic or plowing. Christmas trees can also be taken to the Recycling Center. If you have further questions, please contact the Streets Department at
