Trivia Challenge Time - Can You Dig It?
May is designated Historic Preservation Month by the Wisconsin Historical Society and we celebrate the reopening of the New Berlin Farmers Market. Both events are a reminder that our suburban community is firmly rooted in its agricultural heritage. Many of the early European settlers came to New Berlin hoping to make their dreams of owning their own farm a reality. Many were successful, and agriculture remained an important part of New Berlin's economy well into the later part of the 20th century. Some of our streets and roads still bear the names of these farming families including Calhoun, Johnson, Martin, Swartz, and Woelfel. In memory of these pioneers, the Landmarks Commission invites you to test your knowledge of New Berlin agriculture in our latest trivia challenge, "Can You Dig It?"
