City Hall is plenty busy with the collection of tax bills.
In this edition of the Notes we cover how to view your bill online, information regarding pet licenses, burn permits and all things holiday! We hope you enjoy all that the City has to offer during this wonderful time of the year.

Property Taxes
Property tax bills have been mailed out and residents should be receiving them this week. Directions to see how much you owe online can be found by clicking the button below. A special reminder that receipts are NOT automatically generated for payments that are mailed in or left in the drop box. If you would like a receipt, include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment and you will be mailed a receipt once your payment processes.
How to Pay
New Berlin City Hall accepts checks, money orders, cashier's checks, traveler's checks and cash as payment. There are several ways to pay:

  • In person at City Hall during normal business hours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, excluding holidays)
  • Dropbox in the parking lot of City Hall
  • Credit card payment by phone only
  • Automatic payment plan
2020 Burn Permits
2020 Burn Permits are now available! Open burning of grass, leaves, and other vegetation requires a permit. Permits may be purchased from City Hall or the  New Berlin Public Library   at a cost of $8
(cash or check only).

Pet Licenses Expire
Current pet license will expire on December 31st and will need to be renewed. Chapter 152 of the Municipal Code for the City of New Berlin requires that every dog and cat over the age of 5 months be vaccinated against rabies and licensed - proof of this must be provided at the time of licensing.
Fees are as Follows:
  • Neutered or spayed Dog or Cat: $10
  • Non-neutered or non-spayed dog or cat: 15
  • Late Fee (renewal received after March 31st): $5

Census Workers Needed
Earn extra income while helping your community! The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting thousands of people across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count.
Holiday Closings
City Hall will be closed on December 24th and 25th. It will also close at noon on December 31st and be closed all day January 1st. We hope you all have a happy holiday season!
Photo Contest
Calling all photographers! You're invited to participate in our 2020 photo contest. This year's theme, City Living with a Touch of Flurries ! We're looking for your best winter picture taken within the City of New Berlin. Entry is free and by email. Click the button below for more information.
Don't miss the first ever Winter Fest put on by the New Berlin Recreation Department! It's Sunday, January 12th from noon until 5:00 pm. Games and events will be happening at Malone Park and City Center Plaza. For more information click the button below.
The Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help out with the first ever Winter Fest! It's a one day obligation from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on the day of the event. It's a great opportunity for students looking to log some volunteer hours, and it's a ton of fun!
Got Glasses?
You can drop off used eye glasses and hearing aids at New Berlin City Hall. Look for the collection bucket at the Clerk's counter.The New Berlin Lions Club sponsors this collection.
Business of
the Month
Congratulations to our December Business of the Month, Linda's Hallmark Shop! The store is located at 15405 W. National Ave. Stop by city hall to see the basket they are giving away, then visit the shop to enter to win!
Food Donations Welcome
The City of New Berlin is now accepting non-perishable food items or toiletries to be donated and distributed thru the New Berlin Food Pantry. You can leave donations under the giving tree at City Hall thru January 6th.
