A Variety of Conveyors

Last week, Ken and I visited a project near Ancaster, Ontario. After a brief orientation, Wayne toured us around the site. He explained the 4 phase process Matcom and other crews are completing. Understanding the 4 phases added to an overall understanding of the entire project, and how Matcom fit into the big picture. As Wayne said, the next time I hear about this project, I will have a more clear idea of the progress that has been made.

The last site I visited also saw Matcom assembling a system of conveyors. Going into the site in Ancaster, I was expecting to see a similar set up. The 4 phase debrief, however, proved me wrong. It is always impressive to see how different projects are using their space and unique conveyor systems within the industry. As well, I admire the versatility the Matcom team possesses. Just as there is not one single prototype for conveyor use, there is also not one way to assemble them. I was lucky enough to witness some master machinery moving and problem solving! Our team had to hoist a piece delicately behind a pole, but not too far as it would hit the emergency exit sign. With enough patience and teamwork, the piece fit in perfectly.
