General Meeting Elects Our New Board For The 2023/2024 Biennium
On the afternoon of November 30, we held a general meeting at Rosewood São Paulo to appoint our new Board and priority actions for the 2023/2024 biennium.
Elected from among the members present, the fifth BLTA council, taking office in January, will be chaired by Roberto Klabin, from Caiman, who will keep Simone Scorsato as CEO. Alex Da Riva (Cristalino Lodge) leaves the chair and becomes CFO. Carolina Napolitano (Hotel Fasano), Mikael Castro (Abercrombie & Kent Brazil), Pedro Treacher (Pousadas Tutabel, Trijunção, and Literária), and Manoela Losso (LK Design Hotel) take office as Chief Communication, Commercial, and Sustainability & Institutional Relations Officers, respectively.
For 2023, one of our goals is to work together with institutions working in promoting Brazil as a destination, we are aware that Brazil is an underpromoted environmental power, and unfortunately tourism has never been a priority in any administration. However, we are hopeful that from next year the new government will be able to reverse the negative image that has been developed abroad over the past four years.
Regarding our next steps, we will keep our strategic focus on promoting Brazil as a competitive destination in the global luxury travel sector. In this sense, we will act, jointly and with the support of sector institutions, to expand communication in the international market through roadshows to help reposition Brazil on the wish list of travelers seeking service excellence and memorable experiences.
To overcome this challenge, all of us at BLTA play a key role in promoting tourism, both internationally and domestically, and we hope that the Ministries of Environment and Tourism will work together in this regard.

May 2023 be the beginning of this process of putting Brazil back on the world map of luxury travel.

Simone Scorsato
CEO da BLTA
