PLEASE LIMIT TEXT MESSAGING WITH MANAGEMENT!
It has come to our attention that there is a lot of communication by text messaging between members and management. JNESO understands that a text about coming in early or coming in for another shift may be the fastest and easiest form of communication for management but it should not lead to other questions and concerns.

Communication with management via text should be avoided!

JNESO has seen members recently having long-drawn-out conversations back and forth with management via text after the fact. This communication can, and has led to, misinterpretation and ultimately to discipline. JNESO Officers and Stewards need to be a part of these conversations and should not be a part of them via text messaging, but should be conducted in person, on the phone, and via email.

JNESO has stated to management that this kind of communication has to stop! If management starts a conversation via text, let them know that you will call them or will see them on your next shift.

If a JNESO Steward or Officer is needed because you feel that the conversation may lead to disciplinary action; contact one of them immediately, advise them of what the issue is and arrangements should be made at that time about representation if it becomes necessary.

MEMBERS SHOULD NOT GO INTO MEETINGS ALONE WITHOUT UNION REPRESENTATION!
