Following a comprehensive review, current and past CAEA Leadership have identified that certain amendments enacted in 2023 did not adhere to established constitutional protocols; specifically, amendments to the constitution were made without a full membership vote, which is required. CAEA Regional Announcements

CENTRAL AREA

Click on the slide below to learn more about what Central Area has been up to.

NORTHERN AREA

Northern Area was so excited to kick off March with our annual Northern Area Youth Art Month Exhibition. Due to scheduling challenges we held our exhibition throughout the month of February with the closing reception on March 1.

We were grateful to be hosted by Sacramento’s PBS KVIE Gallery this year! The venue was perfect and all the folks at KVIE were so accommodating… thank you!

Also, we have to give a HUGE shoutout to our YAM Chairs Maryann Schultz and Jaime Shilen. The two of them worked tirelessly to put together a great exhibition. They had some technical assistance from Larry Williams as well.

And obviously… the biggest THANK YOU to our tremendous teachers and their students. Without them there would be no exhibition!

Northern Area Mini-Conference

Keep your eyes peeled for updates related to the Northern Area mini-conference next Fall. We are excited to be working the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento and are finalizing a date for the event. It will be sometime in September or October of 2025. We’ll be looking for presenters and volunteers… More info on that will be coming soon but if you’d like to be involved in helping to plan the event, please reach out to Northern Area Director, Ross Roadruck at northern@caea-arteducation.org.

Call for Leadership

Northern Area will be looking for new leaders! Ross (Director) and Ben (Associate Director) will be moving on from their positions in June and we need you! If you are interested in being involved to help bring professional development opportunities to teachers and students in the Northern Area, please consider applying! Look for the “Call for Council Nominations” section of the newsletter. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Ross at northern@caea-arteducation.org
