Alarm System Alerts via Email from Compass
  • Auto-notification alarm alerts via email will now be sent by Compass from noreply@myalarms.com.
  • The layout of this email has been modified slightly. See "Old/New" image below for the new format.
  • The email also now provides the recipient with a link that may be clicked to view more information on the account (see image on right). This link is active for one hour after the alert was sent. When clicked, the link will display:
  • Dealer Name (Blue banner at the top)
  • Site name/address & CS
  • Signal they were notified on (top box)
  • 24 hours of recent activity on the account
  • Service Phone Number
  • Monitoring Center Phone Number


Please Note: The Date/Time of the event is not included in the body of the email on the new version. However, this will be corrected on a future Compass release,currently scheduled for early February.
Alarm System Alerts via SMS from Compass
  • End users will now be able to re-enable alarm system alerts via SMS if they accidentally disable them by clicking on the wrong link from the SMS "Welcome" message. 
Compass Updates
Location - Zones
  • Zone value of ‘O/C’ for specific zone formats is now available.
Location - Contacts
  • Improvements have been made to the contacts reorder function, allowing the user to identify where the contact order is being moved to.
Administration – Default Settings
  • Administration group settings are now only accessible by Dealer Admins. Please contact CMS Dealer Support if you need to assign Dealer Admin privileges to a user.
  • Login passwords are now limited to 20 characters.
Administration – Manage Users
  • Dealer customer number and branch number (for DSB dealers) will no longer be selected by default when creating a new user.
  • Multiple users can now be deleted at one time using check-boxes to select multiple to delete.

SMS Text Exceptions
& Marketing
Using a dashboard in Compass, users can track acceptance of SMS text notification welcome messages. Dealers can now differentiate between users who have not yet clicked to accept messages, and also those who have clicked "stop" to opt out of receiving messages via text.

Supervised O/C Dashboard on MyAlarms
Subscribers with access to more than 1 location AND where the locations have supervised open/close schedules, will see a new dashboard option via the mobile version of MyAlarms. This dashboard will allow users to see the open/close status of a location, as well as the option to modify the time of the next expected open/close event for that location.
Newsroom on Compass
CMS newsroom is now available in Compass. Everything you need to know about what's going on at CMS is now in one place. Breaking news will be displayed as a banner at the top of Compass. (Only available for Compass web version)
Compass Admin Users
Manage Users
  • View user’s login History. Simply click on the "last login date" column of a user and a pop-up box will display the last 30 days of login history for that user. This list can also be exported.
  • View recently accessed accounts. A new pin icon has been added to the actions section that will display the recently accessed accounts list that a user sees when they log in to Compass. This list can also be exported.
Manage Subscriptions
New tab for administrators to find and edit report subscriptions for users that they administer. The list can be filtered by user name, report name, service company or email address.
