Dante is getting a makeover! The NYC Department of Parks and Recreation's Art & Antiquities division was out at Dante Park this morning beginning conservation on the statue of Dante Alighieri. The work coincides with the 700th Anniversary of Dante's death and the 100th Anniversary of the sculpture’s installation, and is planned to be completed within two weeks.
