CUNY Callouts

Elizabeth Bishop is an educator, researcher, writer and youth advocate. As an adjunct professor at CUNY’s School of Professional Studies, she helps equip students with the knowledge and skills for working in youth-oriented settings.

Outside of CUNY, Bishop is the co-director of the Impact Hub at Girls for Gender Equity, an organization that pursues gender and racial justice by encouraging Black girls and gender-expansive young people of color to take on leadership roles. She is also a surfer and a board member of the International Surf Therapy Organization.

What's your advice to CUNY students?

“Actively build and maintain a strong professional network by attending industry events, joining relevant professional associations and connecting with peers and mentors. A robust network not only provides valuable insights and opportunities but also fosters relationships that can lead to collaborations, job prospects and career advancement.”
