Youth Hear a Wild Mission
As part of our study of the book of Acts and Paul's three missionary journeys, we have begun focusing on "Mission" with the youth. While we often association Christian mission solely with mission trips, Dr. Brent Wild, MGA Class of 2007, shared this past Sabbath about his mission to serve others through the practice of physical therapy. As with many, Brent did not discover his mission immediately, but eventually knew how he could help better the lives of others based on the gifts he'd been given. Thank you so much, Brent!
"While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'   So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off."
Acts 13:2-3 NIV
Youth Host WWVA for the Weekend
The Walla Walla Valley Academy orchestra, comprised of approximately 30 high school students, joined our youth for Friday night vespers, Sabbath School, and lunch this past weekend. Vespers and Sabbath School focused on our theme of "mission,' while also including games and worship. The lunch gave us additional time to connect and provide a meal for our guests before their next performance. Speaking of which, they graced our church with beautiful classical pieces for both services. We hope to see them again!
Week of Prayer at DAA
This week, several Calimesa Youth are having the opportunity to speak at Desert Adventist Academy in Palm Desert for their Week of Prayer. The speakers so far have been William Turturica, Sebastian De Lorey, Rachel Langford, and Andrea Garcia. Brenden Carlson and Kyleigh Sanchez will close out the week on Thursday and Friday. They have all done a great job in front of the DAA's K-8 students! Great job, everyone! If your youth would ever be interested in speaking publicly, please let Pastor Aren know!
