The Youth Services department of the New Carlisle Library will be under construction beginning Monday, January 9. This process will involve new flooring, paint, and furniture, as well as a rearrangement of shelves, increased play areas, and more comfortable seating for adults. We will have a dedicated space for Teens, a flexible programming area for Storytimes and other gatherings, and a circulation desk in the department so that we can better assist patrons.
All of this is great news! What's the down side? The Youth Services department will need to be closed in order for this amazing renovation to happen. There will be a small collection of books available in the Meeting Room of the adult section of the library, but we will not be able to pull books from our collection during the renovation.
We intend to reopen the space on
Wednesday, February 1
as long as there are no delays. I hope you will all come and see the new refreshed space!
