County supports six statewide programs with CARES funding
New Castle County is dedicating $136 million toward six statewide programs from the County's allotment of federal CARES Act money. New Castle County is the first municipality nationwide to direct funding to statewide programs, and the funding will supplement the $927 million the state received from the federal CARES Act. County Executive Matt Meyer and the State of Delaware developed a three-step approach to determine cost sharing on each program. County offering another six pop-up testing sites next week
New Castle County will offer six pop-up testing sites next week, in addition to the fixed sites offered by the State of Delaware. Fixed sites can be found at Walgreens, State service centers and some physicians offices, every weekday during normal business hours. As a result of community demand, New Castle County will operate pop-up sites with evening hours. Any resident can get tested regardless of symptoms and tests are free, quick, easy and painless. Land Preservation Task Force hosts public meeting on October 28th
New Castle County's Land Preservation Task Force will hold a public meeting on October 28th to deliver a final draft of their task force report. The task force was assembled to examine key questions and shape a plan for the County's land preservation strategy and examine ways to improve collaboration with other entities to increase resources for the purchase and maintenance of land. County hosts drive-thru job fair for open positions today
New Castle County is hiring for a number of open positions across the County Government from Barn Workers to Civil Engineers. To meet the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and give prospective applicants a chance to meet with county officials, the county is hosting a drive thru job fair at the Bear Library from 10am to 2pm today, rain or shine! The county also held a similar event on Tuesday that drew dozens of interested applicants.
