Update From Your Chamber
(October 2, 2020)
Happy October!

There are a lot of exciting events happening this month - from a brand new event format to Small Business Week! We're collaborating with the other West Niagara Chambers of Commerce to bring you an interactive, small-business-specific event - so stay tuned for more details.

The renovations in the office are complete, and now it's time to unpack! Our office is open by appointment only, so please contact us if you'd like to book some time with us. We ask that visitors help us be part of the solution to stop the spread and keep our businesses open by following all safety protocols in place: stay home if you feel unwell or have any symptoms, wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene (we have some on site), and observe physical distancing whenever possible.

Of course, we are still available to meet off-site or by email, Zoom, and phone at 416-877-7605. Please don't hesitate to reach out - we'd love to connect with you!

Stay well. Stay safe.

Connecting Ideas Brainstorming Sessions
Share. Listen. Solve.

We understand the value of sharing ideas to help solve problems - and we shaped a new event format around the benefits of brainstorming.

The Connecting Ideas Brainstorming Sessions are problem-solving think-tanks in a small group setting - with only 6 spots available. Each participant will have the opportunity to tell the group about an issue, idea, or challenge, and the group will offer solutions, other viewpoints and considerations, or anything else that could help move your ideas forward!

Join us for the first Connecting Ideas Session on Thursday, October 15 from 2 - 3 PM to meaningfully share ideas with other local business owners! We may even have a surprise moderator...!

Hurry - only 6 spaces are available on a first come first serve basis!
Ontario Chamber of Commerce
Webinar - The Role of Canadian Oil and Natural Gas in Ontario’s Economic Recovery
Wednesday, October 7 | 12 - 1 PM

Join the Ontario Chamber of Commerce on October 7 from 12 - 1 PM for a discussion on the role of Canadian oil and natural gas in an economic recovery for Ontario that works for everyone – from consumers to the manufacturing sector to Indigenous communities.

In the new normal created after COVID, it is essential that job creation and economic development programs work for all Ontarians, including Indigenous peoples. Natural resource and energy projects have been an important vehicle for Indigenous economic development. As we pursue recovery, it is important to that First Nations have opportunities to participate in large resource projects as true partners.
As Ontario turns its attention to the reopening its economy, we have an opportunity to make sure recovery works for everyone. With the right policy conditions, our sector can contribute to Ontario’s recovery and achieve our shared objectives of creating jobs, generating pan-Canadian benefits, advancing environmental leadership at home and abroad, and building wealth while shrinking debt.
They will be joined by panelists:
  • Chief Sharleen Gale, Chair, First Nations Major Projects Coalition
  • Malini Giridhar, VP, Business Development & Regulatory, Enbridge Gas Inc.
  • Shannon Joseph, VP Government Relations & Indigenous Affairs, CAPP
  • Moderated by: Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, OCC

Organizations from all sectors and businesses of all sizes are encouraged to attend!
From Our Members
We're pleased to offer this space for our members to share initiatives, promotions, events, updates, and more with our network. There is excellent information, and we encourage you to take a moment to look through this week's submissions. You may find ideas or opportunities to collaborate with a fellow chamber member.
