CITY LEADERS PROPOSE PAYING FOR SMASHED WINDOWS
Tacoma Mayor, Victoria Woodards said “The issues that are plaguing some of our businesses are an ongoing cost that makes it very difficult for them to sustain themselves during this difficult time” An initiative proposed to help businesses would allocate $300,000 for window replacements. The average cost of a window replacement is about $2,500. The funding could pay for about 120 replacements.

Join us on Friday, February 18, from 12:00-1:00pm for an enjoyable and informative session on the fabulous free tools and resources the Pierce County Library system offers to help businesses grow. Learn how to access FREE resources related to hiring, fund development, staff education, data, marketing, networking, and more! Sharon Seabrook, MLIS, the Adult Services Librarian for Pierce County Library System will lead the discussion.

CHAMBER MEMBER AWARDED COMCAST RISE GRANT
Chamber Member Reyallan Thompson, owner of Nallayer Studios is one of the recipients of Comcast's RISE Grant. 100 selected businesses in King and Pierce Counties each received a $10,000 grant. Comcast has awarded a total of $1 million through the RISE Grant program.

Nextaff staffing agency held a ribbon cutting for their Tacoma office last Tuesday. NEXTAFF works with businesses seeking to hire and retain quality talent for jobs in the Tacoma area. ANTHONY'S RESAURANTS BUYS BOATHOUSE 19
Anthony’s Restaurants, a family-owned group of restaurants, has announced that it is joining the Tacoma Narrows community with the purchase of Boathouse 19, a local dockside restaurant with views of the Narrows Bridge. With the retirement of founders Dennis and Katie Driscoll, Anthony’s will strive to continue the legacy they have built. The restaurant will continue to operate under the Boathouse 19 name and with the same team members, including general manager John Little and chef Edson Ibarra.
