For over 15 years, Gianni’s Trattoria has been a beloved spot for Italian cuisine in Downtown Concord. The restaurant, known for its authentic Italian dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere, has now moved to a new location at Gibson Mill, just a short drive from the original spot.

In the heart of Downtown Concord, you’ll find Press & Porter, a coffee shop that’s more than just a place to grab your morning brew. Founded by Anna and Emily, sisters and lifelong Concord residents, this cozy spot has become a cornerstone of the community.

🎉 To mark their five-year anniversary, they are hosting a “Re•Union” event, celebrating their journey and the start of a new chapter. This past weekend they added a brand-new porch that is a gorgeous gathering space!

🍻🌭 Sept 20–21, Cabarrus Brewing Company Oktoberfest: Celebrate with German food, a keg tapping ceremony, costume and brat-eating contests, and live music.

🍾 Sept 22, Local Bottle Shop is hosting an Oktoberfest Brunch from 12-2pm for just $20, catered by the talented 2Gals Kitchen.

🎵 Sept 27–29 and Oct 4–6, Kantoberfest at Old Armor Beer Company: Enjoy two weekends of Bavarian food, craft beers, live music, and festival games.

🎉 Oct 5, BURGTOBERFEST at Percent Tap House: Experience a family-friendly Oktoberfest street party with food, music, games, and shopping.

🎃 Oct 4–6, Cannon Ballers Oktoberfest at Atrium Health Ballpark: Featuring a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, live music, and fall festivities.

📚🔍 Two Author Events Happening This Fall

As the leaves begin to change, so does the literary landscape in Cabarrus County, with two exciting author events on the horizon. Whether you're a fan of gripping mysteries or love engaging in community discussions, these events are not to be missed.

Community Read Event (Oct 3rd): Join Cabarrus County Libraries for a community-wide reading of Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger, featuring an author talk and book signing in Kannapolis.

Murder Mystery Tour (Nov 9th): Attend the National Book Tour for An Author's Guide to Murder with “Team W” authors, including a meet-and-greet and a copy of the book at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library.

Downtown Concord is launching Love Local Thursdays this week on Sept 5th, with businesses staying open late and offering specials. This event will continue on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month for a fun night out of dining, shopping, and fun.

Looking for something for Friday nights? Downtown Kannapolis is kicking off its first Friday Night Live on Sept 6th on West A Street featuring the Ace Party Band and lots of amazing vendors.

The Cabarrus Arts Council’s Fall Art Walk is taking place on Saturday, Sept 7th from 11am-4pm on Barbrick Ave. SW and Market St. SW. This all-day arts festival features artists and makers to sell their handmade artwork. Stop by the Cabarrus Arts Council as well to see their free current exhibition, Roots/Raices.
