June 2012
Welcome Chris Ferrier, Executive Chef

Chris Ferrier, Executive Chef

2100 Prime has a new executive chef, Stephen Johnston, general manager of the restaurant and hotel, announced yesterday. "He has an outstanding culinary career in luxury hotels and fine dining restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area, and we're looking forward to his leadership and vision for the entire food and beverage program at the restaurant and the hotel," said Johnston.

In his role as executive chef, Ferrier will oversee the culinary operation for the Zagat-rated 2100 Prime, which is located in the heart of Dupont Circle and Embassy Row. This includes leading a team of culinary professionals, creating the direction for the hotel's restaurant, 2100 Prime, as well as overseeing The Fairfax Lounge and an extensive banquet operation.

Why buy local? Chris has been dedicated to buying local since 1990 when he worked in California and then while working at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville. He developed many relationships with local vendors. There are countless reasons why buying local food is both rewarding and delicious, including enjoying the taste of fresh food, improved health and nutrition, environmental stewardship, support for family farms and rural communities.
