But when I heard that Arkansas Hospice was looking for a new Chief Philanthropy Officer, I felt moved to pursue this opportunity because I knew what it meant to be on the receiving end of this sacred mission. My father had been a patient of Arkansas Hospice at the Ottenheimer Inpatient Center at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock, and I knew the relief I felt in having him be at peace, at last. The comfort my father and family received was the balm that I knew I could help pass on to other patients and their families. The foundation-shaking experience of losing a parent would be the journey that would lead me to this opportunity at Arkansas Hospice.
In my very short time here, I’ve discovered an amazing universe of people who are committed, passionate, selfless and relentless in offering physical, emotional and spiritual support to the patients and families we serve. Asking others to support Arkansas Hospice is not a job, but a journey - to keep that circle of giving in motion.
Grief has never been greater for so many, and we are needed now more than ever to provide relief and quality-of-life through hospice, palliative care and bereavement services. It’s our time to help others as we have been helped. For now, much normalcy is on hold, but our mission continues.
I look forward to meeting you all and hearing about your journey and connection with Arkansas Hospice. Send me an email, drop me a note, call me anytime. Let’s walk this road together.
With gratitude,
