Awareness to Action for Youth-Serving Professionals

Training of Trainers - Circles of Safety for Sexual Abuse Prevention

Awareness to Action
Overview: In online classes over 4 days, attendees will become better prepared to support children’s healthy and safe sexual development, identify and respond to warning signs in children and adult’s behaviors in their programs, and design safety plans to address safe boundaries, privacy, consent and respect.

The virtual classroom experience will include:
  • Complete training manual including curriculum, handouts, surveys, and workshop participant's handbooks
  • 24 maximum participants for increased engagement
  • Reflection and engagement activities

Cost: $285 ($295 with CE credits, available for Options 1 and 2)

Recommended Audience: Professional caregivers, (i.e. foster parents, youth residential staff, youth program support staff, sexual assault and response professionals, child protective service professionals, child and family advocacy professionals, educational professionals) youth-serving organization employees in any role, and anyone interested in preventing child sexual abuse.
Training of Trainers
Overview: Train the trainer offers community and youth-serving organizations the training and tools they need to train their own staff and the caregivers they support, including parents, foster parents and residential staff. Attendees will be given curriculums and materials to bring two workshops to their communities both electronically and in person: Understanding the Role of Healthy Sexuality Development and Education in Sexual Abuse Prevention and Understanding and Responding to Warning Signs.

Note: Circles of Safety: Awareness to Action is a prerequisite.

The virtual classroom experience will include:
  • Complete training manual including curriculum, handouts, surveys, and workshop participant's handbooks
  • 16 maximum participants for increased engagement and practice
  • Eligibilty for a 3 year certification as a Circles of Safety Community Presenter.
  • Quarterly training enews and ongoing education opportunities

Cost: $250

Recommended Audience: Youth-serving program training professionals
