Administrative Council Meeting Minutes
In-Person & On-Line Meeting
Sunday January 26, 2025
Present: Anna McCoy, Beverly Reynolds, Beverly Todd, Rev. Brian Jackson, Carl Bolar, Eileen Mouzon, Harold Carey, Keith Bolar, Mary Dockins, Patricia Grimes, Peggy Dixon, Sheila Davis, Sherrita Thompson, Rev. Jackie McLellan (Phone), James Claiborne (Phone)
Presiding: Sheila Davis, Chair
Sheila announced that New Covenant is going to follow the Administrative Council Meeting model for church operations. She stated this will take prayer, unity (the church must be on one accord), and strength (you are never too weak or old to do God’s work) from everyone. Each meeting will start and end on time.
To get started, we need at least these committees: Finance, Trustees, SPPRC, Worship.
Other committees include: Lay Leader to Annual Conference; Youth; United Methodist Women in Faith; United Methodist Men; Missions; Outreach; Nominations.
The Council meetings will be open to everyone. The Committees will work within their committees and report back to the Administrative Council for final vote approval.
Vote was held and the Administrative Council will be held on the third Sunday after service for approximately one hour.
When necessary, meetings will be held on the phone.
Rev. Jackson:
- Cheryl Gould left the church. Needed: one or two people to serve on the SPPRC.
- Encouraged everyone to be in prayer as an outside group wants to use the church. A meeting will be held to discuss this endeavor.
Meeting was closed at 12:35pm with prayer by Rev. Jackson.
