Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, cleansing as His Bride, getting ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom,

As part of Holy Week I"m sharing an excellent article from Jane Snyder of Melchizedek's Treasure ministry: www.melchizedekstreasure.com

The New Covenant – so BIG

The Passover meal for Jesus was prepared and taken care of by Our Father. Everything was pre-arranged. This particular Passover was the meal of the ages. With this celebration of Jesus instituting the representation of His soon-to-be broken body (bread), and His soon-to-be-spilled blood (the wine), He would fulfill the long-prophesied NEW COVENANT that we gentile Christians know as communion. When this Passover seder was fulfilled the very next day, everything was eternally changed.

This is the prophecy of it by Jeremiah 31:27
“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. “And they shall not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Five days after His celebration as the (humble) King entering His city of Jerusalem, the New Covenant was eternally initiated. The MOSAIC COVENANT FULFILLED by Christ, BECAME THE CHURCH AGE AND ETERNAL COVENANT. It centered around the forgiveness of sin, and God living inside your heart. Read that verse carefully. It was a huge event. Even the priesthood itself changed. All of this is encased in the participation of communion. Because Jesus was rejected by the Jews, God made a way to offer His forgiveness and His personal relationship to the Gentiles.

BETRAYAL
Let’s discuss betrayal. Betrayal is one of the most emotionally painful events in a person’s life. It is a hard thing to forgive (and forget). Here, we have one of the 12 disciples betraying the Son of God for money for His capture. And betrayed with a kiss. It was the real kiss of death. Can anything be worse? Yet… this kiss of death from His disciple Judas, bought our freedom from our “slavery to sin”. As usual, God turned the most horrible event (the rejection of their messiah), into the greatest event in the world… our redemption. Do you want wisdom? This is it.

Jesus, acting as Prophet, first announces His betrayal. In the Melchizedek Priesthood, He acts as Prophet, Priest, and King.
Within an hour of Jesus initiating the new covenant, by partaking of the bread and wine, Judas had received his traitor pay, and carried it out with his kiss that same night.

14 When the hour came, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him.
15 And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
16 for I say to you, I shall not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
17 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves;
18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”
19 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, which is being given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant in My blood.
21 But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table. 22 For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!” Luke 22:14-22

I can see that we will always have the betrayer with us until Jesus returns. We will have to accept him as Jesus did and leave justice to the Father.

The MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD FULFILLED
There is another eternal celebration going on with this seder, and that was the changing of the priesthood from the Levitical to the Melchizedek Priesthood. This Priesthood was given to Abraham when Melchizedek, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham and gave him bread and wine. Abraham gave him a tenth of all he had. Gen. 14:18.

The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, “You (coming Messiah) are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” Ps.110:4

WE SERVE
The Melchizedek Priesthood was now fulfilled with the new covenant instituted by the High Priest himself. And His first teaching was on SERVING EACH OTHER.
“But I am among you as the one who serves.”
Jesus the King washed the disciple’s feet before the meal.
Jesus rode a donkey into His city.
His coronation was a crown of thorns that spilled His blood.
Oh my. Let this sink in.

Jesus brought out bread and wine REPRESENTING HIS OWN BODY AND BLOOD and shared it with his disciples, that included the transgressor who partook of it.
What happened immediately after the seder was a correction to the disciples that instituted probably the most important teaching that Jesus, the humble King, had ever spoken.
After the world-changing meal the first thing to manifest was disciple PRIDE! This was the very sin that got Lucifer kicked out of heaven. What a coincidence!
We must be ever watchful of pride in ourselves.

Within minutes they were bickering over who of them would end up the greatest. But Jesus intervened: “Kings like to throw their weight around and people in authority like to give themselves fancy titles. It’s not going to be that way with you. Let the senior among you become like the junior; let the leader act the part of the servant..Luke 22: 24-28 Message

May we forever acknowledge Him, JESUS, as we partake of His body and blood in communion.
May we Honor Him by making things right with other humans whether in person or in forgiveness.
But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. Mt. 6:15

What good is His broken body and His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins, if you do not personally apply it TO YOURSELF?  Watch whom you blame, because that will require your forgiveness. Have you ever thought to forgive yourself? There is much to repent of when coming to the Lord’s table.

AN EXAMPLE:
Once when I was realizing the places that I blamed, (I work in Africa!) I realized I blamed Somalia for polluting the continent, with its abduction of street kids for its’ terrorists, and for the evil it spreads with all of its networks and corruption. Honestly, I couldn’t find anything good about that place.
I forgave Somalia!
Immediately one of our men was abducted and then sent to the Al-Shabaab camp in Somalia to be killed. Within the week we got as a convert, the man in charge of recruitment and training right out of that camp. A few weeks later we got the conversions of four of his friends and rescued them.

What more will God do with my forgiveness? Ask me next year!
A newsletter I recently sent was this Al-Sha trainer’s testimony titled, “Evangelism- The HORNET'S Nest”
Read it. This is what God can do with the repentance of my own blame and hatred. God is Amazing.

Access Him by your forgiveness of everyone and everything.
Then come to Him in humility.
This is how you enter and stay in, God’s Kingdom.
