Throughout the pandemic, our number one priority has been keeping our community safe. Along with advice from our medical task force, we have constantly reviewed and implemented Covid guidelines outlined by the CDC and the State of Connecticut. With the most recent change in regulations, we are outlining below what this means for Temple Sholom.
Beginning on June 1, 2021:
Indoors - Sanctuary and Lobby Areas: Masks will be required for unvaccinated individuals including unvaccinated children over the age of 2. Fully vaccinated means two weeks after receiving both doses of either Moderna or Pfizer or one dose of Johnson & Johnson.
Indoors - School Wing - Since children under 12 can not be vaccinated, masks are required in the school wing, for everyone age 2 and older. The school wing is the area through the double doors past the restrooms off the lobby. If children are in the social hall or Davis Lounge, that space is then considered a school area.
Services Sign-Ups, Pod Seating and Health Forms
We will no longer require advance sign ups, pod seating or health acknowledgement and waivers. For those people who are not comfortable with non pod seating, they are welcome to register in advance (email firstname.lastname@example.org) and seats will be set aside for them.
In-Person Shabbat Services
Beginning with Friday night services on June 4th, all Friday and Saturday services are now open for in person attendance. Pre-registration is no longer needed. We will continue to also offer some type of virtual option for those who prefer to attend services from home. Friday night services will start at 6:30 pm and Saturday morning services will begin at 10:00 am. Starting in September, the Saturday morning services start time will move to 10:30 am.
