We LOVE our customers, and our weekly newsletter is our bouquet of affection. To that end, we've got some great things for you on this Valentine's Day email newsletter!

Fans in northern California, you can come to visit us at DunDraCon this weekend! We've also added the Tales From The Magician's Skull t-shirt to our online store. Along with that, we've got an interview with a Roadworthy Retailer, an interview with Harley Stroh, an overview of our newly updated forums, and an article about The Shamantic Rites of Heilung—a band you will want to discover!

Exclusive for the newsletter this week, we've got a look at Judge Brendan's first appearance of 2020, and an overview of FOUR third-party Kickstarters that are underway.

Let's get to it!
Find the Goodman Games booth at one of these upcoming cons to pick up rare con exclusives!
Now you too can show the world your reverence to The Skull!

The Tales From the Magician's Skull t-shirt is now available on our online store. Originally only available to the backers of Tales From The Magician's Skull Kickstarter, now EVERYONE can get their hands on one and show off their good taste to the public at large.
We only have a limited supply of this classic pulp-style white-on-black tee, so do not delay! And once you have your shirt, we want you to show it off. Like Tales From The Magician's Skull fan Troy Chrisman, who sent us this pic of him in his shirt inside the home of Robert E. Howard in Cross Plains, TX— a place that we ourselves have visited!

If you've got a pic of yourself in Skull shirt at a shrine to the sword-and-sorcery culture, send it to us! We would love to see it—and possibly even share it to the other Legions of fans out there!

These are going to go fast so get your hands on them before they are gone!
And if you haven't experienced Tales From The Magician's Skull directly, be sure to check out the first three issues, now available in our online store!

February is Zinequest month! And Dungeon Crawl Classics is reaping the benefit of this promotion! There are FOUR DCC Kickstarters currently going, giving you a variety of choices to enhance your campaign.

Below is text taken directly from the Kickstarter campaign. We encourage you to go check out each and every one of them!
A tentacle and sorcery zine for DCC RPG !
What is Terror of the Stratosfiend?

Portals and warp gates have been opening all over the earth and giant aliens have been pouring out. Players will quickly find out that some of their own have been aliens the whole time, and that humans from distant stars have also shown up to help quell the madness. The setting is meant to be both an add-on to any Dungeon Crawl Classics session the Judge and players would be running; adding a splash of tentacles. It's also being built to be a standalone setting where tentacles and sorcery would be the focus.

But wait this is issue #2?

We'll catch you up real fast. It focuses on the Cosmic Dispatch, from where the Elevator God was born. The enemies and npcs are elevator-related, they could be cultists, they could be actual elevators, in some cases they're pirates, and in others they are T-REXES.

As a player you'll be wielding screaming sabers, guilty shotguns, and glaives dripping in honey. Find out what it means to "Fear Bolster" and help your friends in need. You'll visit the 6 chambered hell and see what strange items are for purchase... and you'll need every one of them if you want to survive. Maybe you'll start your journey as an out of luck DJ or a taxi driver wielding a bank vault door?

As a Judge you'll be calling down strangeness equipped with talking swords and furry assault rifles. Cults devoted to Elevator Gods, Rage-Bound Elevators, A Pirate that stitches together her foes, and a T-Rex that warps time and space.

Yes...a t-rex that warps time and space.

What choices will you make? Will you give into fear, or will you harness it and leap from rooftop to rooftop? Or will you cast spells or will you warp them until they cast themselves? Its up to you to carve your way forward.
A weird Americana setting for the DCC RPG !
One of Us is an official third party zine for the  Dungeon Crawl Classics  roleplaying game. Possession of the  DCC RPG rulebook is required to get the most out of the zine, as spells and core rules will not be reprinted.  One of Us  will be completely compatible with DCC , so your DCC campaign could be brought into the Dust Bowl should the PCs wander through the wrong portal.

Influenced by shows like  Carnivale  and literature in the vein of  Something Wicked This Way Comes One of Us  will put the players into the roles of traveling circus performers in the service of The Madame — a shadowy and cryptic patron who directs the PCs to find and return artifacts of the old world.  One of Us  will feature new character classes, profession tables, and quick performance rules for when the characters are trying to win over a crowd. A short adventure set in the world after the Big Mistake will get your new campaign rolling.

The tone of  One of Us  is one of folk horror and weird tales, with themes of finding acceptance amongst those who have also been thrown away by a harsh world. The character classes will be blessed with strange powers and mutations, which may cause them to be shunned by "normal folk" but embraced by the Madame's circus.
A Zine Full of Monsters for Dungeon Crawl Classics !
Q: What are those?
A: Them’s monsters!

In 2018, Joshua L.H. Burnett put together a manga-sized zine called  Them’s Monsters!   that was passed out to people he met at Gencon. The zine was a collection of various monsters for the  Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game.  He's never officially published  Them’s Monsters!, and that original print-run of 50 was all the world had even seen of it.

But now Zinequest 2 provides the opportunity and excuse to share  Them’s Monsters!  with the wider world! The Zinequest version of  T hem’s Monsters!  includes the original 10 monsters, several new ones, as well as new and improved art.

Those Monsters...
  • Carrion Knight
  • Cleric Lick Monster
  • Cybersnail
  • Eyeless Dead
  • Humababa
  • Iron Medusa
  • Millennium Tortoise
  • Muldasynkovi
  • Pumpkin Knight
  • Sanity Assassin
  • Sludge Dwarf
  • Sludge Golem
  • Terrible Infant
  • Weremoose
And Also…
  • The Dungle, a new DCC class of hardy little beetle people.
  • A never-before seen Moonblossom & Chance comic.

While the original  Them’s Monsters!   was manga-sized, the new version will be in the standard 8.5” x 5.5” zine format. In accordance with the Zinequest guidelines it will be printed in a single color.
A DCC RPG Zinequest Zine !
The  Akashic Titan  zine serves as an introduction to the akashic titans, giant metal constructs powered by magic that soar across the endless void, traveling from world to world. In addition to giving an overview of the akashic titans, the zine provides a port city setting, Starnheim, that Judges can work into their  Dungeon Crawl Classics  games.

Part 1: Journey to Starnheim describes the rumors that might entice PCs to seek out a hidden market and some of their stops along the way.

Part 2: The Town of Starnheim gives an overview of a hidden market town, including some of the dangerous factions PCs may encounter there.

Part 3: Mount Starnheim describes the port where the akashic titans dock and the businesses located there.

Part 4: The Akashic Titans describes the workings of the akashic titans, including combat rules, an overview of the crew members’ responsibilities, and a sample titan.

Part 5: The Bands briefly describes the colored Bands that the akashic titans travel through in their journeys across reality.

Also included are new monsters (such as the  Stellar Squid  and  Living Constellation ), spells (such as  Access Akashic Library ), and, of course, random tables.

The shield-maiden stands before the priest, her arms bound behind her, lashed to a spear. The drums, which have played mercilessly, ominously, throughout the rite have stopped. The witnesses to the ritual stand in the shadows, watching breathlessly. A noose hangs around the shield-maiden’s throat, the priest holding the cord. Then, as the witnesses gasp, the priest tightens the noose with a single, sharp motion and the shield-maiden collapses to the ground. The gods have been appeased.

On the evening of January 29th, 2020, I traveled both physically and temporally to witness a primal rite being held at Webster Hall in New York City. Physically, the trip required only a couple of hours on the Long Island Railroad, but chronologically, it was a journey back into the Iron Age. This night, Heilung was returning to Webster Hall to close out their North American tour...

The backbone of any gaming community is its friendly local game store (FLGS). If you’re passing through Cleveland, OH, do yourself a favor and swing by one of the best and nerdiest stores in town run by Beckett Warren called Weird Realms!

Weird Realms, which opened in 2016, carries a wide range of games, comics, and collectibles. The store has an extensive selection of OSR offerings, 3rd party products, and indie story games to delight even the crustiest of Grognards!

I sat down to chat with Beckett recently to gather a little more insight on himself and the store he runs...

Our partner Akileos Publishing is responsible for the upcoming French edition of Dungeon Crawl Classics. We recently ran an interview they did with our own Dark Master, Joseph Goodman, but they didn't stop there.

Akileos also conducted an interview with DCC-scribe-extraordinaire, Harley Stroh! This interview was already run on their site in French but was conducted in English, and we thought you might want to read it for yourself.

Follow the link below to the English version of the interview. Now you'll be able to—or at least attempt to—understand the inner workings of the mind of Harley Stroh!
Our third-party publishers have created an amazing array of product that touches on settings and ideas that show the true creativity of the Dungeon Crawl Classics fan. Every year we are impressed with the new avenues explored and the quality of the product released.

In 2019 the third-party sales were amazing, and we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the top sellers in two different categories: Overall Best Selling DCC Third Party Items and Best Selling Zines.

Be sure to click on the image to take you to the product for a full description of the release. And, to let you know, in some cases there are alternate covers available for the books or multiple issues of the zines, but we just chose one to display. Go ahead and look at all your options!

But why am I yammering away? Let's look at some books!
