Dear Beaver Community,

Spring is here, which means the end of another academic year is quickly approaching, and coming together as a community is top of mind. In our roles, we work closely with many Affinity Group Leaders who affirm, celebrate, and explore the many identities our students hold. One of their goals this year has been to launch a community event that celebrates the myriad of cultural and ethnic backgrounds present at Beaver. This event would showcase how we take pride in who we are as one Beaver community, molded by diverse roots and origins, called One Beaver Cultural Heritage Festival! The event will take place on Monday, May 5. See more details from the student organizers below.

In addition to this upcoming event, the First Gen Club launched the Pinpoint Heritage Project, an initiative dedicated to celebrating identity and fostering community. On a large world map located near the Foyer, pins are placed on the country or region they identify with—whether by heritage, culture, or personal connection. The goal is to visually represent the diverse backgrounds of our community and create a safe, welcoming space where everyone’s story matters.

The Affinity Group Captains and First Gen Club Leaders invite all members of the Beaver community, including parents/caregivers, to attend One Beaver Cultural Heritage Festival.

We hope to see you all on May 5!

Introducing One Beaver Cultural Heritage Festival!

A note from the student organizers

We, the Affinity Group Captains and First Gen Club Leaders, are reaching out to YOU—students, families, and faculty/staff—to participate in the One Beaver Cultural Heritage Festival! Let’s take the opportunity to celebrate and recognize them as ONE, united together! You might represent the cultural or ethnic heritage you feel most connected to sharing at this time or the one you have the most to showcase through artifacts.

The goal of this event is to share what you love about your culture or heritage (food, music, art, etc.) with the school community and provide an opportunity to learn about and appreciate other cultures represented at Beaver.
