Greetings!

“What should I do with my kids this summer?” And, “How can I ensure they don’t stop learning?”

These are the two most common questions that we at the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) are hearing from parents across the country. Since Matthew Boulay founded NSLA more than 25 years ago, our mission has always been to combat summer learning loss, and to close the achievement and opportunity gaps which increase over the summer months. But now, with schools and camps closed because of COVID-19, that mission has become even harder to attain. Success of students will depend on the daily efforts of the parents and caring adults in every young person’s life.

Matthew has now authored a new e-book, How to Keep Your Kids Learning When Schools Are Closed , that delivers immediate, practical advice to parents who are asking urgent questions about how best to support, nurture and educate their children during periods of social distancing and quarantine. Also included are 40 Digital Learning Kits for students in elementary and middle school.

We hope parents will utilize this resource to inspire their children’s love of learning, and share these fun activities with others. With Matthew’s tips and activities, as well as the work of the organization he founded, together we can work to ensure all kids learn and succeed this summer. The e-book is available on Amazon for $2.99.

Thank you to all the summer learning champions who work tirelessly to help provide engaging and enriching summer learning opportunities to kids across the country.

Sincerely,
Aaron Philip Dworkin

P.S. A portion of the proceeds from the book will go to support the work of NSLA.
