A New Funding Opportunity from E4A & RWJF

Next month E4A is launching a new RWJF funding opportunity, the Indigenous-Led Solutions to Advance Health Equity & Wellbeing Call for Proposals. Under this call we seek to fund Indigenous-led community-prioritized investigation of solutions with the potential to advance health and wellbeing, integrating and elevating Indigenous cultures and knowledge-building practices. Our goal is to fund a diverse range of projects, tailored to different phases of development and scope.

The Indigenous solicitation will run concurrently with our Innovative Research to Advance Racial Equity Call for Proposals.

Dr. Tongtan “Bert” Chantarat, a research scientist at the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, passed along a recent Health Affairs Forefront piece, Improving Peer Review For Structural Racism and Health Research. In the piece Dr. Michelle Ko discusses the need for training academic journal peer-reviewers “to understand and value how the core tenets of health research can address structural and institutional racism.”
