Effective January 1, 2022, CAEP education code was updated to include a new section as part of EC 84906 (3). Law section (ca.gov) This addition was part of the AB486 education code revision effort. More details and additional adult education code updates soon.

On February 22, 2022, $11,451,835 of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Governor's Discretionary funds were awarded to 19 organizations under the Equity and Special Populations Program (ESP) for Program Year 2021-22 (PY 21-22) Solicitation for Proposals (SFP). More than half of the awardees were CAEP members or affiliated with a CAEP consortium. Please click on the link below for a list of awardees and project summaries. CAEP 2022-25 Three-Year Plan Updates
|
|
CAEP 2022-25 Three-Year Plan in NOVA Webinar
This Friday, February 25, 2022 at 12:00 p.m., CAEP consortia leads and members will convene to engage in a robust, facilitated discussion around questions that have come up as they are preparing to complete the CAEP 2022-25 three year plan. The January PLC included a rich discussion about the three-year plan and we are certain the conversation will continue this Friday.
If you have not done so already, register to attend this PLC. Upon receipt of registration, you will receive a link to complete a pre-session form where you can document questions before the PLC.
CFAD and Governance Documents Reminder
The CFAD and governance documents for 2022 are connected to the three-year plan. The CFAD and governance documents will need to submitted and approved by all consortium members in order to submit and approve the three-year plan by June 20, 2022.
Three-Year Plan Webinar in March
The CAEP Office and CAEP TAP will host a webinar in March to address any final supportive needs related to the three-year plan. All details will be released soon.

Chancellor’s Office and Foundation for California Community Colleges Launches Undocumented Student Support eHandbook
|
|
A coordinated effort between the California Community Chancellor's Office (Chancellor’s Office) and the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC), with philanthropic support from The James Irvine Foundation, led to the development of this exciting resource. The eHandbook highlights promising practices in providing holistic resources and services to undocumented students and provides guidance and support to practitioners across the system.
Chapter 1 introduction includes:
- Overview
- Current Chancellor’s Office/FoundationCCC Efforts for Systematic Support
- CCC Undocumented Student Services over the years
- Engaging administrators, presidents, and vice-presidents, Chief Business Officers
- Intersectionality and holistic support for Undocumented Students
- Forging the Undocumented Student Pathway - Why is our work important?
This eHandbook will highlight achievements of the UndocuLiasion Network and the progress made over the years in undocumented student support services. Future chapters will include topics like the undocumented student enrollment journey, UndocuAlly Trainings, Financial Aid, Undocumented Student Centers, Promising practices for counselors and faculty among other topics.

Register for OTAN's Technology and Distance Learning Symposium
|

Registration for OTAN's annual Technology and Distance Learning Symposium (TDLS), which will take place online from March 2 to 4, is open!
TDLS is OTAN's three-day conference with dynamic, hands-on presentations that show participants how to integrate technology to enhance the learner experience, extend the classroom to learners through blended/distance learning, and help adult education programs be more effective and efficient.
Join us at TDLS to learn more about:
- Online learning, blended learning, and distance learning
- A variety of tech tools for the classroom
- How to address digital equity and access, technology integration, online engagement, and many other topics for teachers, administrators, and support staff using technology
- OTAN's Digital Leadership Academy (DLAC) projects

Building on the success of our first-ever virtual conference in 2021, TDLS is once again online this year. Registration is open to the first 800 registrants. TDLS is free, and we hope to see many new faces this year, especially those of you who have not been able to attend TDLS in previous years. EDD: Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network Program – Grant Application Opportunity
|
|
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration announces the availability of approximately $48 million for the Rural Public Health Workforce Training Network Program (RPHWTN) to expand public health capacity by supporting health care job development, training, and placement in rural and tribal communities. The HHS anticipates awarding 31 grants with a maximum award of approximately $1.5 million for a three-year project period. One of the key elements of the RPHWTN Program is to create stronger linkages between training programs and the health care entities that will ultimately employ these public health professionals.
Applicants must select at least one of the following workforce training tracks and establish a network to implement workforce activities that will directly impact the workforce training track(s):
- Track #1 – Community Health Support
- Track #2 – Health IT and/or Telehealth Technical Support
- Track #3 – Community Para-Medicine
- Track #4 – Case Management Staff and/or Respiratory Therapists
Eligible applicants must be public or private, non-profit or for-profit entities, including faith-based, community-based, tribes and tribal organizations with demonstrated experience serving, or the capacity to serve, rural underserved populations. The closing date for receipt of proposals is March 18, 2022.
