Help Us Remain:

Bring Care for Identity to Care for Dementia

The Canadian healthcare system isn’t equipped for 2SLGBTQI people living with dementia. Join EAPO and Egale Canada to hear about the experiences of 2SLGBTQI people living with dementia and what we

can do to make more inclusive dementia care for all.

Participants will learn about Egale’s dementia-related research,

resources on how to be an ally to 2SLGBTQI People Living with

Dementia, including Guiding Principles for Healthcare and

Social Service Professionals as well as Egale’s awareness campaign:

Help Us Remain: Bring Care for Identity to Care For Dementia.

Let’s change the way 2SLGBTQI people

living with dementia are treated.

Join EAPO and Mixed Company Theatre for an interactive,

role-playing based event, Two-Sided Mirror, about navigating

a loved one’s life-threatening illness, and supporting older

adults through depression and suicidal ideation.

Reality based scenarios will focus on how to support loved

ones through major health related choices and the mental

health impact of illnesses on everyone involved.

Through these dialogues, participants will also learn how

to recognize the signs of older adults who are experiencing

depression and suicidal ideation and explore new ways to

support one another if and when these circumstances arise.
