NEW EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Libby Boomer -
Environmental Health Services Relationship Manager
A brief interview with Libby...
We’ve heard you have lived in a few different places. Tell us more.
I am a born and raised Nashville native and after graduating from the University of Tennessee, I began a journey that took me to some great places around our country -- from Kansas City, Charlotte, NC, Columbus, OH, Ft. Wayne, IN, back to Nashville, Colorado Springs, CO, and now to beautiful Jacksonville, FL! I feel blessed to live on the beach and enjoy all the incredible options for taking advantage of the outdoors year-round.

What else do you do for fun?
Coming from Nashville, I have always enjoyed listening to all kinds of live music. I love traveling, trying new restaurants, riding my bike to get around on the weekends, and relaxing and reading on the beach. I’ve also been known to win a game or two of beach bocce ball. I am also a University of Tennessee and Tennessee Titans fan, so football season is my favorite time of year!
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
I once participated in 4 obstacle course races in one year- Tough Mudder, Spartan, Warrior Dash, and Battlefrog! What was I thinking?!

Family?
I am a proud mom to a son and daughter. My son just finished grad school two years ago at the University of Chicago. He loves Chicago so much, he stayed there. My daughter, who is in her last year of grad school, teaches at a charter school in Dallas through a program with Johns Hopkins University School of Education. They are my greatest joy and accomplishment!

What about your professional background?
Much of my career has been dedicated to nonprofit management and relationships, which is what drew me to the work of the Northeast Florida Safety Council and their dedication to the culture of safety for this vibrant community.
What is on your wishlist for the next year with the Safety Council?
I would love to see the Jacksonville community learn more about us as a partner in creating a culture of safety, and our ability to ensure that companies have the best and most up to date trainings for their employees to make sure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.
