Please join the New England Council for a special program focused on the rising concerns over chemicals in drinking water, food, and daily use products. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, are a diverse group of thousands of chemicals used in hundreds of types of products, and their persistence in the environment means that PFAS from past and current uses have resulted in increasing levels of contamination of the air, water, and soil.

We look forward to hearing keynote remarks on this important topic from U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-MA), a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, who will highlight efforts in Congress to address PFAS.

Following the Congressman's remarks, Udit Batra Ph.D. President and CEO of Waters Corporation, will lead a panel discussion with several experts on PFAS detection and remediation:

  • Phil Brown, Ph.D., University Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Health Sciences; Director, Social Science Environmental Health Research Institute, Northeastern University
  • John Gardella, Esq., Co-Owner, CMBG3 Law
  • Jon Petali, Ph.D., Human Health Risk Assessor, Battelle
