New England Dairy Coordinates Milk Donation in Worcester

On Thursday, May 21, New England Dairy teamed up with Worcester Public Schools, the Patriots Foundation, Mass Military Foundation, The Guy Family Foundation, and Dairy Farmers of America to provide Meals and Milk to families in need throughout the City of Worcester. Parents were able to pick up their children’s daily breakfast and lunch offered through the school’s ongoing remote feeding program. Through the donations, families also received a gallon of milk courtesy of DFA and a week’s worth of groceries courtesy of the Guy Family Foundation. Lawrence Guy is a defensive star for the New England Patriots.

Dairy Farmers of America donated 1900 half gallons to the Worcester community, and “Groceries with the Guys” dis tributed nearly 850 meal boxes. Several media outlets covered the event explaining how dairy farmers are helping their communities during this time.   Watch the story from WCVB Boston .

Continued Support of Donation Efforts in Connecticut

As part of our efforts to elevate the activities of industry partners across the region, New England Dairy continues to partner with University of Connecticut Extension Educator Bill Davenport. Davenport leads the Litchfield County 4H group and has empowered students and families to support their local communities by transporting donated dairy products to food pantries in the county and around the state. New England Dairy has supported his efforts with media expertise by creating media alerts and press releases, and inviting media to attend the donation days. Local and statewide media groups have covered the three donation events, generating more than 81,000 impressions. This number continues to grow based on continued work with Davenport in Connecticut.
