Cultivating a Reliable Food Supply

Project Summary
In 2019, the New England State Food System Planners Partnership launched the New England Feeding New England: Cultivating A Reliable Food Supply Project, a 10-year initiative to prepare the region for system shocks such as climate-related weather events and public health emergencies. Our aim is to increase regional food production for regional consumption. We can improve the reliability of our regional food system by strengthening supply chains and our goal is for 30% of food consumed in New England to be produced or harvested in New England by 2030.

New England Feeding New England is a Hiring a Project Director!
New England State Food System Planners Partnership is pleased to announce that we will be hiring a Project Director to lead the New England Feeding New England project to the next phase.

The Project Director will advance the goal of moving the region to 30% regional food production for regional food consumption by 2030. They will lead core partners in efforts to convene public, private, and nonprofit entities across the New England area to understand key issues and take high-priority actions to address them. Intended outcomes will include state-level and regional policy and investment decisions that will lead to shortened food supply chains and will increase the amount of food that is both produced and consumed in New England.

This is a full-time, grant funded position, based out of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) which administers funding on behalf of the NEFNE project. Position start date is flexible, but preferred by March 6, 2023. To be effective in this position, the Director needs to live in New England.
