About Our Guest:

Born in New York City, Fernando van Reigersberg has been a pillar of the Interpretation Community since the late 1950s.
His fascination with the languages of the world and his eagerness to help people communicate propelled him very early on on the path of a most distinguished linguistic career.

A career diplomatic interpreter, he joined the Office of Language Services of the United States Department of State, then became chief interpreter at INTELSAT. He worked with many statesmen and preeminent personalities through time, from Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon. B. Johnson to astronaut Neil Armstrong and many of the world top athletes and sports personalities through the Olympic movement, and His Holiness Pope Francis, to name only a few.
A passionate opera lover, avid reader, constant learner with an undying curiosity for all things and all-around gentleman, Fernando was recently appointed Honorary Member of The American Association of Language Specialists – TAALS as a tribute to his remarkable, life-long contribution to our profession as a whole.
