Greetings Community Council Members and Partners,
I am honored to announce that Community Council's Board has selected its next Executive Director. We are excited to introduce to you, Todd Barnes, who will begin his role on November 1.

Describing himself as having a "servant leader" management style, Todd worked 35 years in the retail industry where he continually was recognized for his achievements and where he developed experience and expertise in leadership, strategic thinking, marketing, financial planning, and risk management. Todd has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska.
Todd is passionate about service in the community and this passion was fed by his involvement with the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity where he came to realize that in the midst of our community's prosperity, there are real needs. Todd spent four years leading the Salvation Army's Tree of Lights campaign, and served as president of Zion Lutheran Church and School and St. Peter's Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, he received Community Council's Community Builder Award. He wants to use his experience and background to make a difference and to make the community - all of the community - better.
During the next few months Todd will be listening and learning, forging relationships, and gaining a sense of our organization's strengths and weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities. Todd is committed to our mission, to be "the catalyst that brings together people, organizations, and resources to build a stronger, healthier, more compassionate community." We believe that Todd is a person who will provide vision and drive for the Community Council, and our community. Our Board is committed to Todd's success, and we know that where appropriate, you will also. We sincerely thank you for your support.
Please reserve time for a luncheon on December 1 where we plan to acknowledge Mary Hutchison's service and success as she prepares to step into retirement. We will have the opportunity on this day to thank Mary for making a difference in the lives of the people in our community. More information will be forthcoming.
Again, our deepest thanks to you for being part of a strong network of organizations that makes our community a great place to live, and thank you for joining me in welcoming Todd to our team.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mary or me.
Thank you,
Scott Schaffer, Board Chairman
