Physician Reporting Requirements - Important Update!

Stethoscope

Physicians are incessantly barraged by increasing reporting requirements, but that unfortunately does not prevent the State from levying administrative fines on those who fail to file the mandated report. Make sure you and your team do not overlook two new requirements that have recently surfaced (CLICK HERE to learn more) and one that has been in existence since 1997. The Uterine Fibroid Registry opens on December 1, 2026, and physicians need to be aware of the requirements.  The FL Dept of Health will hold Uterine Fibroid training sessions (register below) to provide further guidance.

FAFP September Member Spotlight - Dr. Jennifer Green

"One of the things I love most about family medicine is that I get to do a little bit of everything while getting to know the people I care for over time. At the University of Miami, I see my own continuity patients as a community primary care physician, and I work with residents and medical students in the clinic and on our inpatient service at Jackson Memorial Hospital. I love the variety each week brings. It can include a conversation with a patient I’ve come to know well, teaching at the bedside, and helping a student discover that family medicine might be the right career fit for them."

Family Medicine Week 2026: Celebrating Florida's Family Physicians

Family Medicine Week is an annual celebration of family physicians and the vital role they play in caring for patients, families and communities.

Family physicians answer the call in countless ways—from caring for patients across generations to strengthening the communities they serve. Their broad training, enduring patient relationships and commitment to comprehensive care make family medicine essential to a strong, sustainable health care system.

This week, the FAFP celebrates the physicians who chose family medicine here in Florida—and continue choosing it every day.
