Living Mathematx as a Form of Healing: Implications for Teaching and Learning

Dr. Rochelle Gutiérrez will discuss ideas from ethnomathematics (including Western mathematics), postcolonial theory, aesthetics, biology, enactivism, and Indigenous knowings in order to propose a new vision for practicing mathematics, something she refers to as Living Mathematx.

While not a leave program, the UCSD CCMD Program is intended to coordinate with existing leave plans and will cover dependents of all ages, including children and dependent adults and elders. The program will be effective through the 2021-2022 academic year.
