A Message from Our President
On behalf of The Angeletti Group, thank you to all of our client partners, colleagues, and friends for another fantastic year. We look forward to continued success and positivity in 2019.

As we think about our personal resolutions for the New Year, also consider resolutions for your organization. What will make 2019 the best year yet? This could be the year you focus on setting up metrics for the major gifts process, expand your board development efforts, or embark on a strategic planning initiative. For all of your 2019 goals, be sure to check out The Angeletti Group’s resources and feel free to reach out if we can be of help!

In January, alongside school head Carol Maoz and board leadership of The Foote School, I will be presenting “Hitting Singles and Doubles: Building Your Pipeline with Mid-Level Gifts” at the CASE-NAIS Independent Schools conference in Philadelphia, PA. In this panel discussion, Foote's leadership will share their strategies and specific case studies with mid- and high-level donors leading the way.

In this edition of TAGlines, we're excited to present new blog posts, spotlight the YWCA of the City of New York, and announce our newest partnerships.

As always, if we can help your institution or organization with our services, please contact us at (973) 540-1400 or info@theangelettigroup.com

Passion Projects: A New Era of Philanthropy
In today’s world, a growing concern is stirring regarding the idea that philanthropy—the concept of charitable giving to support nonprofit organizations and, in turn, people—is detrimental to our society. Public perception of philanthropists characterizes these “do-gooders” as distant from the problems they seek to alleviate. But philanthropists are no different than the people we interact with every day.

Expanding the Geographic Reach of Your Fundraising Efforts
For many nonprofits with a national reach, a major challenge is expanding beyond their localized donor base. Whether during a campaign or for traditional fundraising efforts, building and maintaining relationships with your national constituents is key to the organization’s growth. Ryan Quick, Director, Client Partnerships, shares a case study from a current client partner and discusses ways to expand your organization's geographic reach.

How to use "Plannual Giving" to encourage annual fund donors to consider planned giving

A comprehensive fundraising development program should include a balance of activities related to annual giving, major giving, and planned giving. Without any one of the legs of this three-legged stool, you cannot sustain support for your mission. Your organization relies on the regular revenue from special events, direct mail, and more recently social media to maintain your operating budget. But could you do more with your annual giving program to increase giving?

Whats's The Deal With Donor-Advised Funds?

One of the fastest-growing giving vehicles of our time, donor-advised funds (DAFs) experienced a record-breaking year, growing nearly three times the rate of overall charitable giving in 2016. Contributions to DAFs grew 7.6 percent in 2016, outpacing the overall growth-rate in giving, but a fraction of the 18.3 annualized rate DAF contributions climbed between 2010 and 2015 .

YWCA of the City of New York
The YWCA of the City of New York creates an NYC where everything and anything is possible for all women and girls. Its mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. YWCA’s unique programs train over 1,800 women, girls, and young men from underserved communities, aged 8 to 24, to develop the resilience and perseverance to stand up for themselves and each other.

Recently, TAG partnered with the YWCA of NYC to host the 45 th Annual YW Academy of Women Leaders Salute Luncheon. Over 300 guests attended the event at the Marriott Marquis, which highlighted the important and often overlooked advancements of women leaders in corporations throughout NYC. The event was an absolute success concluding with a total of $400,000 dollars raised for the benefit of the YWCA.

TAG will continue to serve as the development office for the YWCA by providing major gifts counseling, board development, grant writing, corporate philanthropy strategy, and direct to consumer outreach.

Hitting Singles and Doubles: Building Your Pipeline with Mid-Level Gifts
Presented by Jay Angeletti, President, The Angeletti Group ; Rich Bershtein, Board President; Cindy Leffell, Board Vice President; and Carol Maoz, Head of School, The Foote School

Campaigns are not always comprised of home runs. While most every institution dreams of transformational commitments-and certainly should focus on their pursuit-what happens between those rare commitments? And, slicing it a different way, what happens between your annual appeal level donors and the top of your gift pyramid? This session highlights the Foote School's Centennial Campaign and the way in which mid-level donors are leading the way. Jay Angeletti moderates a panel including the School's head and two trustees, who share strategies and invite feedback regarding pipeline development, communications, volunteer recruitment, milestones and more.
