If your organization is having an event, let us know and we'll help you promote it. Events can be for the community at large or specific to other service providers in Miami-Dade County. The only requirement is that they offer no- or low-cost opportunities to attendees; please note that we are unable to include galas and fundraisers at this time. Events can be health fairs, back-to-school events, movie screenings, training and professional development, or similar events. Simply fill out our online Community Outreach and Calendar Form at least two weeks prior to your event to get started.

SPARK Training - Northwest
The Children's Trust is sponsoring a SPARK curriculum training for YAS providers on Friday, March 16, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the North Pointe YMCA Family Center, located at 7351 NW 186th Street, Miami, FL 33015. FREE Summer Meals for Children & Youth - Sign Up TODAY!
Summer BreakSpot, a program that provides free meals to children and youth ages birth-18 years at participating service sites, is underway. We encourage ALL children and youth summer program providers to contact sponsors TODAY to secure participation at each of their program service sites. Be sure to confirm available menus (hot or cold) and delivery times BEFORE making a decision on which sponsor best meets the needs of your participants and program environment. In addition, we strongly urge providers to designate their program service sites as “open sites,” where children and youth ages birth-18 years living in their communities may also participate in the free meals program, even if they do not participate in provider programming. Open sites serve a critical role in minimizing food insecurity in Miami-Dade while schools are closed and are, for some children, a literal lifesaver. The Children’s Trust is also supporting Florida Impact efforts to increase accessibility to summer meals for those children who have no access to open sites, through pediatric clinics and WIC and HUB sites. Workshop: Nonprofit Collaboration
Women’s Fund Miami announces "How to Collaborate with Other Nonprofits," presented by YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade CEO Kerry-Ann Royes, on Wednesday, March 21, 8:30-11 a.m. Participants will explore how their nonprofits can benefit from collaborating with others working on similar issues and/or with similar populations to advance common goals; learn how to identify the right collaborative partners; discover different forms of collaboration; and more! Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training is an 8-hour course that teaches any adult how to help an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of addictions and mental illness. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development and provides a 5-step action plan on how to help young people in both crisis and noncrisis situations. Grant Opportunities
Attention Nonprofits: Share Your Change-Making Ideas to Get Funded!
United Way of Miami-Dade announces two new grant opportunities through Inspire305, a new initiative calling on innovators, change-makers and emerging philanthropic leaders who are working on systemic change in our community. Selected finalists will be put to a public online vote and pitch their nonprofit at a culminating Inspire305 event in June. There will be two grants awarded: a $25,000 Grand Innovator award and a $10,000 Trailblazer award. Request for Proposals: Website Design
The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade announces a Request for Proposals (RFP) for website redesign. The agency provides information on its programs and services through its website, including the Healthy Start Program, MomCare Program and the Fetal Infant Mortality Review project. The website also provides a venue for event and meeting registration, and serves to share documents and forms with contracted providers and community partners. Healthy Start contracted providers use the website to advertise group classes to clients, and retrieve forms and contractual documents through a secure portal. Healthcare providers and community partners in Miami-Dade County use the website to learn about Healthy Start Coalition programs and services, retrieve important documents such as referral forms, and complete forms to request educational materials related to maternal, infant and child health. Community partners will also find on the website dates and information on upcoming trainings and meetings to discuss maternal and infant health topics. Available Positions at The Children's Trust

  • Research & Evaluation Analyst To serve as a critical member of both cross- and interdepartmental teams who engages in proactive problem-solving and critical thinking/analysis related to particular child, youth and family program areas and populations. Primary responsibilities include the identification and critical review of evidence-based/best practices in specified program areas; assistance for funded service providers and Trust staff on development of program performance measures; oversight of reporting methods for capturing program performance; regular appraisal of basic program performance statistics and data analyses; contribution to reports that explain initiative results to a variety of audiences; and systems enhancement to ensure accountability. This exempt salaried position works under general supervision and support of a senior research and evaluation analyst.

  • Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) Therapist Master's level therapist trained and experienced in providing evidence-based child-parent psychotherapy (CPP) with fidelity for children and families with high special needs, histories of complex trauma, and medical and mental health issues. Must already be trained and also be committed to helping improve the lives of women and children in the community. Minimum master's degree in mental health counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy or the equivalent, and must be licensed or a registered clinical intern; bilingual fluency also required.
  • Psychiatrist - Part-Time To provide onsite psychiatric care as part of the agency's holistic health and wellness services for high special needs women, youth and children at its residential facility, a shelter for women and children experiencing homelessness. Required services include initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up evaluations and care; diagnoses; reports necessary for disability benefits, housing verifications and other required documentation of disabilities; crisis intervention and assessment; writing prescriptions; and more. Must possess experience working with women and youth with histories of serious trauma, domestic violence, serious mental illness, post-traumatic stress symptomatology, and other high special needs, as well as experience working with the LGBTQIA community. Must possess specialty in psychiatry and ability to write prescriptions and make diagnoses. Psychiatric nurse practitioners should only apply if they have signed protocols and supervision by a medical doctor, as the agency is unable to provide medical doctor supervision and protocols for nurse practitioners.

Available Positions at St. Alban's Child Enrichment Center *

  • Maintenance/Custodian To provide and maintain safe, repair-free facilities at the Coconut Grove and South Miami Centers for children, staff, parents and visitors. Must wear a utility back support that must be in place when lifting.
