COUNTY ARTS RELIEF FUNDING

Grants Programs for Districts 3, 4 & 5 Still Open


Following ArtsOC's successful advocacy with the Orange County Board of Supervisors that resulted in $5 million in arts relief funds being designated from its American Rescue Plan Act allocation, four of the five County Districts have announced their funding programs--each of the five districts received $1M and be custom designed by that Supervisor's office.

84 OC Arts & Entertainment Venues Awarded $78 Million


The Federal government's Small Business Administration has awarded relief grants through its Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program. 23 OC nonprofit arts organizations were among the beneficiaries of this support, including:

13 OC Arts Organizations Awarded $ 285,820 in Grants


After initially approving in July a more limited number of grants statewide, the California Arts Council has responded to input from the field about the pressing need for relief, including a petition by Californians for the Arts, and doubled the funding for this round.


The Council prioritized giving to smaller organizations.

Laguna College of Art + Design Appoints New President


Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD) announced the appointment of Steven J. Brittan as the 14th president of its 60-year-old institution. Brittan comes to Laguna from Florence, Italy, where he has served as President of Studio Arts College International (SACI).
