It’s all coming together. So much visible change in the construction progress of each of the floors in the past few weeks. Now, the spaces are defined with walls, and the ceiling grid is being hung with floor tile installation underway. It’s beginning to look like home.

And, behind the scenes, new air handling units have been installed and data cabling is also being pulled for floors 2 and 6. Chiller piping is being installed and the roof has been completely prepped for re-roofing. Main power will be off this Friday/weekend to switch over to new equipment, so don’t come here looking for any New HQ campers that day!

Check out the New HQ food guide, here. Many thanks to Project Manager Laura Gass for putting this good eats guide together.

New HQ Fair Recap
Over 200 employees joined us on April 24 to celebrate and share their questions on the New HQ.

Hosted by our district experts, the Fair featured department floor plans along with another opportunity to explore a staged workstation, chairs and monitors. Building renderings and finish samples were a hit.

The Fair also included Cap Metro commute options, Austin Materials Marketplace trade and upcycling services, paperless workflow support, along with other features and benefits to support the team’s move to the new, modern workplace environment.

Memory Wall at the New HQ Fair
Thanks to all of the participants who contributed to our memory wall.

These were the top responses to what would be missed the most from CAC and CMD.

Conference Room Name Survey
Let us know what you think of the submissions we received from the New HQ Fair.

Attendees were asked to contribute their creative ideas for conference room names and themes for the building.

This survey will take less than five minutes to complete.
Fixed Assets
Per AISD Board Policy, the removal of assets reflected on department inventories must occur through the use of the Fixed Asset Update Form.

Fixed assets may only be picked up by the warehouse if the form is complete and ready for signature at the time of pick up. The completed and signed form is then submitted to Finance and the asset is removed from their inventory.  Review the full process here.

A review of standard operating procedures and the move to the New HQ will be held in the CAC Board Room on May 22 at 9 a.m. for all inventory designees and any interested employees.
Going Paperless
Technology recommends the following machines to efficiently and accurately scan large amounts of documents:

• Canon DRM-140
• Fujistu fi-7160
• ScanSnap ix500

If you have questions regarding going paperless, please refer to the tip sheet or email Jim Phares.

If you have not already done so, please select a Change Champion (CC) and Move Coordinator (MC) for your department. All CC and MC employees will be required to attend a planning meeting June 12 at 9 a.m. in the CAC Board Room. Any questions regarding roles within your department may be sent to Leslie Vela.
