Please join HKWHFH’s Board of Directors in welcoming our newest Executive Director, Morgan Dean! Morgan joins us with over 15 years in community development and housing, most recently serving Tribal Nations across the United States.
Morgan was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, learning at an early age the value of place, home, and community. She has worked in the many levels of keeping people housed, from providing direct services to households experiencing instability, to the development and rehabilitation of units, and eventually data analysis and policy design. In 2019, Morgan graduated from Virginia Tech with a Master of Public Administration and a graduate certificate in Economic Development. Since then, Morgan has supported the homelessness response during COVID-19 as well as the initiation of housing and social service programming for Tribal Nations in King William County and across the nation. In her new role, Morgan is committed to putting affordable and quality units on the ground and reshaping our communities and our economies through accessible homeownership.
Liz Pace Chambers, President of the Board of Directors, shared, “we are so very excited to welcome Morgan to Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity as our new Executive Director! Morgan’s skills, experience, creativity and passion are the perfect match for this role and our organization, and we can’t wait to see what she will do to help us continue to deliver on our vision of a ‘world where everyone has a decent place to live.’”
Morgan noted, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our community as the Executive Director at HKWHFH. As we continue to grow our organization’s vision and impact, I look forward to working with our staff, partners, and volunteers to improve housing access and affordability.”
Morgan’s first day with us will be Monday, September 9. She plans to attend our annual fundraising dinner, Harvest of Hope, on Friday, September 13. We look forward to introducing her to many of you then!
