New Heat Governance & Planning Resources

A HUGE shoutout to the Housing team for their hard work on the Youth Homelessness System Improvement grant they recently received from US Department of Housing and Urban Development! This funding will enable the creation of the Triangle Youth Assistance Coalition, which will serve Durham, Orange, Wake, and Chatham counties.

This grant was officially announced at a press conference held at our offices on June 6, with key representatives from local governments and partner agencies in attendance. Congresswoman Valerie Foushee expressed her support saying, “This $1.6 million will help CPRC address youth homelessness and create a regional response system across the Triangle, ensuring young North Carolinians have secure housing.

Family Forward NC is Expanding!

Family Forward NC® Community Certification is an opportunity for coalitions, workgroups, partnerships, and alliances that are interested in boosting local economic sustainability by creating a family-friendly business base. A community can be an individual municipality, a regional partnership, or an entire county. With support from NCECF, the ideal community could build a strong public/private partnership of nonprofits and business leaders dedicated to supporting children and families, all while boosting the local economy through employee productivity, recruitment, and retention. The ripple effect will create a community where children and families thrive.

Join the movement to create thriving, family-friendly workplaces! The North Carolina Early Childhood Foundation (NCECF) invites you to lead a Family Forward NC® Community Certification campaign. Funded by the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, this certification fosters public/private partnerships that advance health equity and economic sustainability. Be a leader in your community—apply today and make a lasting impact! Thirty minute information sessions will be held August 13 at 2:00 pm and August 15 at 10:00 am.
