Principals’ Note
We want to take a minute to note our gratitude for the students, parents, and staff who have been a part of this New Heights School community in 2020-2021. The encouragement, trust and flexibility you have given is so appreciated, and has been incredibly important to making this year work. This past year has highlighted that in the face of uncertainty and challenge, we can walk alongside each other, support each other, and know we are not alone. Thank you for being a part of this New Heights community this school year.
We don’t yet know what health measures will be in place when we return for the 2021-2022 school year. We continue to wait and seek direction. We will be sure to communicate our plans with our 2021-2022 school families and staff over email before the students return to school in September.
We are looking forward to next year, and looking forward to re-connecting our New Heights community.
Enjoy the summer!

Ms Laura Jay & Ms Dulaine Lough
Our Administrative Assistant, Laura Jay, will be off on maternity leave as of the end of this school year. We will miss her, but are excited for her to grow her family.

Congrats Laura!
Dulaine Lough will be joining us for Laura’s maternity leave, and will be the voice you hear on the New Heights side of the phone on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the 2021-2022 school year. Alison Black will still be the voice on Mondays and Tuesdays. Dulaine is joining us on certain days through June to work with Laura in the office.

Welcome Dulaine!
Way to Go!
Each month at New Heights there is a Way to Go! draw. To be entered, students have to be “caught” going above and beyond for others.
Some examples of this might be: helping out another student to solve a problem, holding the door for others on the way outside, or letting someone else have a turn on a favorite game.
Teachers fill out a ticket for the students to drop off in the jar in the office, and each month, Mr Williams and Mrs Brocanier pull a ticket from the jar, most likely during the assembly. At the end of the year, all the tickets are put back in the jar for a final mega-draw at the end of June.
The winner of the Way to Go! draw in June was Reid from Mount Rundle!
The winner of the End of Year Mega-Draw was Omo from Copper Mountain!
