Please participate: Ab Ed Assurance Survey

Alberta Education is conducting their 2025.2026 Alberta Education Assurance (AECA) Survey beginning on January 26. Parents and guardians of students in Grades 4 to 12 will receive an email from New Heights with their random access code to complete the survey. We encourage you to participate!

The results of the Assurance Survey give us at New Heights and Alberta Education information and evidence about the quality of your child’s education. It informs goals and plans for improvement, as well as celebrates the areas that are done well.

Alberta Education will be conducting their annual Assurance Survey with parents/guardians until March 6th, 2026.

Survey results are made available to school authorities, and will inform our New Heights Education Plan as well as be reported in our Annual Education Results Report.

Ab Ed Provincial Satisfaction Survey

Not to be confused with the above Assurance survey, Alberta Education and Childcare is also conducting a different Provincial Satisfaction survey from January to May 2026.

This telephone/online Provincial Satisfaction survey is focused on the overall quality of the education system and seeks to “gather responses from a random sample of parents, the public, high school students, teachers, principals, and school board trustees, as well as employers of recent high school graduates. More than 6,000 surveys will be completed, ensuring survey results for each of the 10 respondent groups are statistically representative. The survey responses are completely confidential, and no individual responses will be reported.”

Yearbook Cover Art Contest

The yearbook committee is running a yearbook cover art contest again this year!

If your student is interested, please have them contact the teachers in Mount Chester for more information or see the posters around the school for details.

Due by March 20th.

PAC Update

Mom's Night was a wonderful success last week! Special thanks to all those ladies who made the trek to Untitled Champagne Bar and also to Claudine Adlington for planning the event. We only have this one photo because too much fun was had.
We've got your night coming up fellas! Please RSVP here for Dad's Night at Veranda on Friday, February 27th.
Gala Ticket Sales are coming soon! We're a titch delayed on the launch but we're just a bunch of Moms doing our best so we will get those off as soon as we can. The Sponsor Packages should be coming home with your child this week so please keep an eye out for that!
Don't forget that your silent auction donation is coming due mid March! Reminders will come for that as well as the Gala Volunteer Schedule so you can get that booked into your calendars.
Our next PAC meeting is on Tuesday, February 17th at 7pm. Link to join is here.

Assemblies

At New Heights, each classroom takes a turn hosting an assembly at some point throughout the year. We run two assemblies each assembly date: one for elementary/middle school and one for junior high and high school.

We are excited to share that parents/guardians are invited to attend the assembly that their student’s classroom is hosting. Please see the list below to save the date for your student’s classroom. Your classroom teaching team will provide more information as your assembly date approaches.

February 19 - Skoki and Pyramid

April 23 - Fable and Tower

June 18 - Kidd and Cascade
