Greenwood Announces $83 million Mixed Use Redevelopment

Years-long plans to redevelop the former Greenwood Middle School property is nearing completion. Last week, the city RDC approved a plan for the public-private development. The project will include over 300 apartments, condos, and town homes. It will also feature commercial space, a parking garage, and continued streetscape improvements. Construction will begin this summer, pending Greenwood Common Council approval.

New Home Construction Demand Rises

Demand remains strong for new single-family homes in Johnson County despite the COVID pandemic. Building-permit filings in 2020 rose 27% over the prior year. The increase helps support Aspire’s new Economic Strategic Plan and our goal to embrace opportunities for enhanced livability and quality of place.

Statehouse Update: Second Half of Session Begins with “Normal” Cadence

Remainder of I-69 Project Now Fully Funded and Under Construction

The final two of five construction contracts to build the I-69 Finish Line project between Martinsville and Indianapolis have been awarded. The full I-69 Finish Line project is officially under construction, including the entire 27-mile corridor from S.R. 39 in Martinsville to Indianapolis and 9 miles of I-465 between I-70 and I-65 on Indianapolis’ southwest side. Aspire advocated for the completion of the I-69 expansion in Indiana seven years ago, including the selection of S.R. 37 as the final route.
