New Homes Replace Blight on South Side

Land Bank Director Debora Flora and YNDC Director Ian Beniston stand in front of one of the newly occupied homes on Cliff View Avenue (formerly Bernard St.), part of an affordable housing project to revitalize Youngstown’s South Side. Phase one was completed with three new homes built.


The second phase, which will add three more homes to the street, was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this month. Flora was one of several partners who spoke at the event.

5 Brownfield Cleanup Projects Aim for Grants

The Land Bank is optimistic about five brownfield remediation grant applications aimed at supporting key redevelopment projects, including the former Vindicator building and the Central YMCA.

Work Progresses on New Idora District Homes

All six homes on Mineral Springs Avenue in Youngstown are under roof and on track to be sold this spring. The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. started work on this project late last year.

Struthers Plans New Homes on Land Bank Lots

The City of Struthers was among the winners of Welcome Home Ohio funding last November and plans to build new homes in the city on lots the Land Bank is making available from its inventory.
